This week's guest preacher in our series 'Distant Voices of Hope' is the Very Rev'd Dr Jonathan Draper. Here is a brief biography...
Born in Boston MA, Jonathan moved to the UK for doctoral studies in Durham where he met Maggie and got married some 40 years ago. He was ordained in Manchester where he served his curacy. Jonothan later taught in Oxford at the theological college and the University, before moving to London to become Vicar of Putney. After 8 years as parish priest Jonathan moved to York to become a Canon of York Minster in charge of the Minster's educational work. In 2012 he was appointed Dean of the Exeter Cathedral. In 2017 Jonothan took up a part-time post as General Secretary of Modern Church and became Dean Emeritus. He and his wife live in Exeter and have three grown up children. Maggie is Associate Director of the local hospice.
