The centre of our worship is the sharing of bread and wine as a regular part of our life as a Christian community. Also known as Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper, the Eucharist is celebrated at the majority of services here at St. Philip’s. All baptized Christians may take communion and in our parish children are encouraged to participate in the Eucharist.
The liturgy for the Eucharist can be found in the Book of Alternative Services (Green), the Canadian Prayer Book or in a leaflet especially prepared for the main service on Sunday morning. Music and sermons enhance the services. If you wish to know more about the Anglican Eucharist, please speak to the rector on Sunday.
Lay Participation
St. Philip’s has a long history of involving lay people in worship. If you would like to be involved, please speak to the rector or call the church office.
