Laetare Sunday Evensong (Holden Evening Prayer)
Laetare is the latin word meaning “rejoice". On Laetare Sunday (as similarly to with the Third Sunday of Advent’s Gaudete Sunday) the Church expresses hope and joy in the midst of our Lenten fast. Today is a little glimpse of the joy that awaits us at Easter and many break their fast on Laetare Sunday. We offer Holden’s Sung Evening Prayer (Evensong) this afternoon as a joyful end to the day.
